Dealing with intense energy

20th March 2017 by (Edit)

  • If psychic energy is too intense, here are some techniques to try:

     a.  bind silk scarf around third-eye

     b.  demand relief from the powers of Light

     c.  ground energy into the earth by heavy jumping, walking barefoot, gardening or burying

     d.  your feet in the sand on the beach

     e.  take a bath or a long shower

     f.  dance vigorously to energetic music

     g.  deep sighing exhalation of breath to expel excess energy

     h.  avoid people in general (you are too open/too vulnerable)

     i.  avoid strong winds

     j.  do not drive anywhere; stay at home until it eases

     k.  get someone to give you a massage

     l.  stop meditating or any activity which intensifies the experience

    m. if the energy in your forehead is too intense try an ‘energy transfer’ technique of touching

foreheads with a friend, a tree or the ground. Remain in this position for a while.

Anxiety and Extreme Fearfulness (from Supporting Someone)

Anti-anxiety medication can reduce suffering for a person experiencing great anxiety, fear or paranoia – and does so without completely stopping the process.

It can be very difficult to support someone who is experiencing paranoia. Not only is the person suffering intensely, they can also become suspicious of the supporters… whom they incorporate them into their fearful story. The supporters can feel (and be) unsafe as well.

One way to be with someone in a fearful state is to listen to their story and respond, to the emotional aspects of it. For example…. “Are you feeling really frightened about…?”

It is helpful to hold the awareness that peculiar thoughts have a meaningful basis in the person’s life –  there will be a kernel of truth in what the person is saying. Symbolic communication  may be the person’s way of expressing something important that they find difficult to talk about. For example, a woman who was experiencing a lizard attacking her, was later found to have been sexually abused as a child by a man who had a lizard tattoo on his arm.

Story telling

16th March 2017 by (Edit)

Telling our personal stories is a healthy way to come to a place of self – acceptance. It’s helpful to start doing this in a small way that feels safe – by writing in a journal or speaking with a close friend, testing out the reaction and how it feels for you – you need to make sure you are ready to deal with any repercussions that may occur. Finding a group that feels safe to express yourself authentically in can be very healing. Once we start to tell our stories it enables us to be empowered to write a new ending…

Emotional release and expression

16th March 2017 by (Edit)

Part of the integration process on the spiritual journey is acknowledging and owning the full range of our human emotions, and learning to express and realise them in a healthy way is vital. For example, the emotion of anger still carries a lot of shame in some cultures, but by denying ourselves such emotions can lead to them being buried and affecting us in other ways, e.g. transforming into physical ailments. By releasing such intense emotions in a healthy way, we can feel empowered and grow from it.

Healthy ways to release anger are:

  • Doing physical exercise that helps to release the stress hormones that can build up in our bodies
  • Going to a place where you can freely scream and shout out loud without causing any concern
  • Punching a pillow or punchbag
  • Allowing yourself to cry

Music and Drumming

15th March 2017 by (Edit)

Some people have found that playing a repetitive instrument such as hand drums can be calming and quieten or stop unwanted inner voices. It’s fun too!

You may be able to find or start a drum circle so you can play with other people, the social part of this can also be helpful. See Community.

Music for grounding:

Nature Sounds type of music. There is a 10 hours version on the internet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdIJ2x3nxzQ

Listen to it as much as you can. It can be a background music while you are doing your daily tasks.
