How to Access Support

To get help you can –

  • Contact a local SEN
  • Contact ISEN directly

Are you having life-altering spiritual experiences that have had a radical impact in your life which you need help understanding and support because you are feeling isolated or misunderstood?

Sad woman in need of support

We’re glad you found us. Please rest assured that, although very unsettling, going through a spiritual crisis is actually very common, and although it may not feel like it right now, falling apart can actually be part of a journey to a very positive transformation. Here are some resources if you feel you need support.

ISEN has compiled a Crisis Guide in several languages which contains information and guidance on what you can do to help yourself or others during a Spiritual Emergency.

You can read a list of typical things you might experience.

We understand that going through this process is very challenging for you and we aim to guide you to practitioners who are familiar with spiritual emergency phenomena and who will journey with you and support you through your process.

You can check here to see if your country has a local SEN, where you can find people who will be able to help you.

Recommendations

Making sure you get plenty of sleep, eating well, exercising and spending lots of time in natural environments also helps. Give yourself time and be gentle with yourself, it’s normal to experience a lot of anxiety at these times, so you may need to occasionally have some peaceful space away from family, friends or work, although it’s important not to isolate yourself too much either.

For more information please check our Learning resources section.

If you are looking for support for Spiritual Emergence/Emergency, there are national Operating SENs with local knowledge that can help you. There may be one in your country and in your language and there are new SENs being established.

If you do not find the help and support you need on this website, please complete this form and we will try to direct you to someone who can help:
